Detroit Christmas Holiday Lights



Christmas in Detroit is often a cold and snowy but many people and cities get in the celebration with Detroit Chritmas Light displays. The two biggest are the Wayne County Lightfest on Hines Dirve and Crossroads Village in Flint. The best Detroit Holiday Lights are listed below and they are worth the drive to see this year.

Crossroads Village - 19th Annual Light Show.  See 600,000 lights from a 40 minute train ride.  The village is also open for tours. Also, Santa visits and demostrations of 1860's holiday preparations.  Holiday dinners are available in the village's Mill Street Dining Room.  The village is located near Flint, MI.  For more information, call 1-313-836-1560. Holiday Tree Spectacular at the Zoo - Don’t miss the Holiday Tree Spectacular on display at the front of the Zoo. The display is composed of holiday trees decorated in different themes or styles selected by the sponsor. The Holiday Tree Spectacular is sure to put you in a festive mood!  Be sure to take your kids to have Breakfast with Santa.

Wayne County Lightfest - There are 39 light displays and nearly one million lights along 4 1/2 miles of Hines Drive from Westland to Dearborn heights.  The beginning of the display is located at Hines Drive and Merriman, 2 1/2 miles south of  I-96. Meadow Brook Holiday Walk - Meadow Brook Hall will be aglow with historic holiday displays as the 100-room, Tudor-revival style mansion is decorated for the 35th annual Holiday Walk, which runs Nov. 25-Dec. 18.

Nautical Nights of Lights - This year's Nautical Nights of Lights has been cancelled due to budget cuts and lack of volunteers. Plans are underway for an even bigger and better show next year.... so have a Happy Holiday and see you next year. St. Nicholas Light Display - Domino Farms has been sold to a developer and the light display is no longer offered.
